TO PROMOTE, SHARE AND FOSTER RESOURCES RELATED TO MEDIA LITERACY.
Educators, parents, leaders and role models need to challenge adolescents to become critical thinkers, life-long learners and active citizens. By analyzing advertisements, challenging consumerism and critically exploring social constructs, our aim is to equip students with critical media literacy awareness. By developing these skill adolescents will be able to recognize how media and marketing target specific audiences with the intention of reinforcing social constructs. The ultimate goal is that students will enter adulthood as critical community members who are not maintaining the status quo of social constructs, but rather challenging how media influences our evolving society.
